Twenty outstanding examples of franchisee businesses were recognised through The Great British Franchisee Awards last year and everyone is holding their breath for the announcement of the latest winners on 12th January 2022.

The awards, launched in 2021, are run by whichfranchise, supported by Lloyds Bank, BDO, AMO Consulting and Chantry Group. They are impartial awards with a clear and transparent judging process.

Winners are determined on a level playing field, with a range of categories assessed by the expert judging panel:

  • Franchisee Stability and Business Experience
  • Driving Business Growth
  • Retaining Staff
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Community Involvement
  • Inspired Leadership
  • Franchise Involvement

There is not only one winner. This award can be achieved by any franchisee who can demonstrate the ability to perform exceptionally well in all areas of their business, consistently.

There are numerous fabulous awards programmes in UK franchising, however Johnny Sellyn, Managing Director of whichfranchise.com, founded these awards to put the spotlight on the people who continue to make UK franchising a success, franchisees.

Johnny has been involved in franchising for over 25 years and felt it was time the industry introduced awards where franchisees had the opportunity to be recognised for outstanding performance, regardless of the size of the business or the sector.

The benefits of achieving the Great British Franchisee Award are far reaching. Most importantly, winners receive recognition for their hard work as a franchisee, setting themselves and their businesses apart from the competition. Additionally, winners benefit from excellent PR opportunities, backed by professionally produced case studies, raising the profile of the winners within their network, local communities and on a larger platform through whichfranchise.com. Furthermore, the morale boost the franchisees and their valued teams is significant, as the credentials of their business shine through. Franchisees are the true lifeblood of UK franchising and these awards go some way to giving them the kudos they richly deserve.

12th January 2022 will bring this recognition to more UK franchisee businesses.

If you are, or know of a franchisee who could have what it takes to win a Great British Franchisee Award, see whichfranchise.com/awards/ for details of the next round, which opens for applications on 1st April 2022.
