Lin strolls to victory in the Great British Franchisee Awards
09-September-2021
Staying at least one step ahead of the competition has helped lifelong dancer Lin Green waltz away with the honours in the Great British Franchisee Awards.
For while Lin, owner of Strollercise in Rayleigh, Essex, was kept well and truly on her toes by the shutdowns of Covid, the humour and fun she adds to the lessons has kept her clients loyal and loving it.
While not quite enabling her to laugh all the way to the bank yet, her sense of fun has made her Strollercise lessons so sought-after that clients offer to pay in advance for any sessions they can’t attend, for fear of losing their place.
“I took early redundancy to give me time to build up my classes, then Covid struck,” she says. “We were able to do classes by Zoom, which we did free of charge during the first lockdown, then everybody wanted to come out and play.
“During lockdown I was able to source some big halls so my class would be able to socially distance without having too few people in.
“A lot of people can’t do Zoom so we helped them use it, one-to-one. People joined in with classes and danced about and got themselves mobile and that really helped with loyalty. That’s been the main thing that’s made us this successful.”
Realising that her own image as leader of a dance-based fitness business was crucial, Lin signed up with Slimming World and, with Strollercise, she was able to lose five stone in a year.
“My Strollers are so proud of me and have told all our newbies at any opportunity how different I look to when they first started with me,” says Lin.
“I get quite emotional when I think about the award. Without my Strollers, Team Rayleigh wouldn't be an award-winning franchise.”
Lin won the newly-created award from whichfranchise for being an outstanding franchisee in all aspects of her business.
