Manchester business owner scoops national award
26-September-2024
Manchester business owner Paul Winterbottom has been honoured with a prestigious GB Franchisee of the Year Award 2024.
Celebrating the best in the sector, the accolade recognises Paul’s exceptional achievements in delivering peer advisory boards and business coaching via his The Alternative Board (TAB) franchise in Manchester West.
Paul was commended by the award judges as a ‘true ambassador for TAB’, for his strong representation of TAB’s values. He was recognised for his involvement in the local business community and building a respected brand with a great reputation in Manchester.
Paul’s journey with TAB began a decade ago when he launched his franchise. Over the years, he has built a thriving business, keeping members for longer than the national average and consistently delivering exceptional results.
Today, Paul successfully runs three TAB boards across his Manchester based territory helping business owners to share and overcome challenges alongside achieving personal and professional goals. He works closely with over 20 SME business owners comprising a wide spectrum of sectors including professional services, manufacturing, software development, agencies, support services, construction and technology.
Ed Reid, Managing Director of TAB UK commented: “Paul epitomises what makes a great franchisee and we are delighted to see him scoop this accolade. His Manchester members wax lyrical about the support and results he delivers to their businesses, and he is equally committed to championing TAB across the UK. Paul’s contributions to the franchise community have undoubtedly strengthened TAB as a whole.”
Paul Winterbottom added: “It's very humbling to have received the Great British Franchisee Award 2024 given the thousands of franchisees running very successful businesses in the UK. I'm very fortunate to work with many outstanding business leaders (some of whom have been with me for more than 10 years) and whose businesses have transformed in the time they've been a member of TAB. The saying 'find a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life' couldn’t be truer. Thanks go to everyone involved in the TAB UK community and to all my members who make my role so enjoyable. This award wouldn’t have happened without you all”.
Before joining TAB, Paul spent over 30 years with NatWest / RBS, providing commercial advice to SME clients. Seeking a new challenge, he found in TAB a perfect opportunity to leverage his extensive commercial experience to benefit other business owners.
TAB is the world’s largest franchise system providing peer advisory boards and business coaching for business owners. Across the UK over 1,500 SME business owners have benefited from TAB. Revenue growth of companies working with TAB between 2020 and 2021 averaged an impressive 28.4 per cent with 80 per cent reporting their turnover had increased since joining TAB.
