Signs of a Winning Formula
Two of Signs Express’s leading signage franchisees reach the finals at this year’s Signs Industry awards.
The UK and Ireland’s leading signage and graphics company Signs Express, received recognition at this year’s awards with nominations for centres in both Glasgow and Leeds.
Signs Express (Glasgow), was nominated for Best Interior Signage Project for its work carried out at the Anglia Ruskin University. The Glasgow-based centre has excelled in providing contemporary graphics and signage to create a user friendly social space for students to sit, chat, study and surf the internet. With the design provided by local company Curious Group, the Signs Express team set to work producing large format digital printed graphics, opal acrylic panels and contour cut wall graphics.
Also to reach the finals was Signs Express (Leeds), who was nominated for Sign Business of the Year having exceeded expectations since opening in December 2003. The Leeds centre now ranks within the top five performing Signs Express centres across the 80-strong group. The nomination considered a number of criteria including financial success and growth, investment in facilities and employees, innovative approach to business as well successful marketing initiatives and future projections.
The awards which were in conjunction with the Sign Show was hosted on Wednesday 3rd September to recognise the achievements of the UK’s most successful signage companies. Taking place at the Ricoh Arena, the night brought together a number of signage veterans along with up and coming signage businesses to receive recognition for innovative design, manufacture and application of signage and graphics. Other awards covered categories such as Sign of the Year; best Vehicle Graphics and best International project.
Craig Brown, managing director at Signs Express HQ commented on the announcement: “We were delighted when we heard that two of our centres had been nominated for the Sign Industry Awards. Both of the teams have worked hard over the years to achieve their goals, so it was encouraging when they were recognised outside the network for their accomplishments.”
