Rowan tops the franchise tree at Driver Hire
Rowan Pritchard collected the prestigious “Franchisee of the Year” award at the Winter Conference of Driver Hire, the UK’s leading transport and logistics recruiter.
Factors used in deciding the winner of the award include overall business performance, financial excellence, business building and contribution to the Driver Hire network. In each category, Rowan’s outstanding achievements put him at the top of Driver Hire’s 90-plus franchised office network.
Rowan has operated the Driver Hire franchise in Romford, Essex for the past two years although for several years prior to that he worked in partnership with his mother Irene and brother Dan in the company’s Basildon office.
“Since purchasing the Romford franchise , Rowan has quadrupled turnover in a difficult economic climate,” said Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive. “He also plays an important part in our network by making valuable contributions at regional meetings. And he works closely with neighbouring franchisees when additional drivers are required to meet customer requirements at particularly busy times. All in all he’s a great role model for our franchise network.”
Commenting on his award, Rowan added; “It really was a complete surprise when my name was announced at the presentation ceremony. But it’s great to have my efforts recognised. Of course I couldn’t have won without the support of my Operations Manager, Jacky Ashton, and my team of temps who day in, day out help me deliver excellent service to my customers.”

It provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector.
