Leading signs & graphics franchise Signs Express (Sheffield) and global engineers Sheffield Forgemasters, have joined forces to show support for leading sportswoman Jessica Ennis.

 

The heptathlete, who won gold at the 2009 World Championships and broke the British record for the 60m hurdles last weekend, has been honoured with a banner across Sheffield Forgemasters’ Brightside Lane footbridge announcing Jessica as the ‘Sheffield Forgemasters International Personality of the Year’.

 

Both Sheffield based businesses wanted to publicise the local sports star’s achievements following Jessica’s shortlisting for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award and her 2009 World Championship success.

 

Signs Express was delighted to support Sheffield Forgemasters, a long standing customer, by providing a large banner free of charge which was then positioned in a high traffic area between buildings owned by Forgemasters.

 

Signs Express centre owner Carol Morris said, “We were very excited to be involved in the production and installation of the banner. At 8m long and fitted at an elevated position across a main road onto the motorway, we are sure the banner is going to receive a lot of attention. Hopefully Jessica will have further successes in the 2010 Commonwealth games and beyond and I am sure she will appreciate the local support she is getting.”

 

Sheffield Forgemasters is a global force in steel and engineering, working on contracts across the globe, with a local workforce dedicated to supporting local hero Jessica Ennis in the build up to the 2012 London Olympics.

 

Signs Express (Sheffield) has created a wide variety of signage for the steel and engineering firm including interior and exterior signs for its plant in Sheffield.
