Paintballing treat for a ChipsAway franchisee hero
Stafford based ChipsAway franchisee Carl Hardiman and his team of employees have been treated to a paintballing day after raising more than £4,000 for Help for Heroes, ChipsAway’s adopted charity of the year.
The paintballing day was a reward for the franchisee that raised the most money for Help for Heroes in the first half of 2010.
Carl raised the funds through holding a charity car wash weekend, which generated a fantastic £1,450, and organising a summer ball, which raised over £2,700!
“I decided to get involved and fundraise for Help for Heroes mainly because it is ChipsAway’s chosen charity, also I was in the forces many years ago and the charity is so topical and key at the moment,” Carl said.
“The paintballing day was fantastic – it was really good fun, I did it with Wayne Edge who works in the workshop and Daniel Hardiman – my son who does the valeting and is in training at the moment. We had a brilliant time – it was nice to do something different and a good way to recognise the fundraising for Help for Heroes. Thanks to ChipsAway for the opportunity, I’m proud to be the franchisee that has raised the most money so far!
“I organised the charity ball with some friends as a relative of theirs is in the Marines at the moment and is serving in Afghanistan. At the ball a local band played for free and local businesses and football clubs donated prizes for us to raffle.
“The generosity of people is fantastic – I can’t believe how much money we raised from the car wash. One woman donated £400 and people who didn’t even want their car washing were donating money.”
ChipsAway is one of the most successful franchises in the UK and has a network of Master Franchisors overseas; using their unique repair system, ChipsAway continues to dominate in the ‘on-the-spot’ minor automotive paintwork repair sector.
Franchisees operate from professionally liveried vehicles, customised as fully equipped mobile workshops, which means they can repair minor dents, paintwork scratches and bumper scuffs to car paintwork on a ‘same day’ basis, in a location most convenient to their customer and at a fraction of the cost of traditional bodyshop repair methods.
The ultimate prize up for grabs for the ChipsAway franchisee that raises the most money by the end of the year is a dinner date with TV presenter and motoring journalist, Vicki Butler-Henderson. With Carl’s incredible endeavours so far, he is definitely in with a chance!
