Research confirms increased brand awareness for ChipsAway franchise
A national consumer survey commissioned by leading automotive paintwork repair specialist ChipsAway, has confirmed a significant increase in awareness of the benefits of ‘on-the-spot’ car paintwork repairs generally and of brand leader ChipsAway in particular. The research follows a high profile national marketing campaign, including TV advertising, the launch of a new website, and highly effective Pay Per Click Google Adwords activity.
Key research findings, compared to results from a 2009 national consumer survey, include:
- 60% more respondents had heard of ‘on-the-spot’ car paintwork repairs
- 30% more respondents recognised the ChipsAway brand
- 50% more respondents recognised ChipsAway than the second most recognised brand
The research was based on face-to-face interviews conducted in seven different geographic regions from Edinburgh to Exeter, and results were compiled by an independent research consultant.
ChipsAway Chief Executive Lloyd Evans comments: “The results of the survey are fantastic and we are especially pleased that awareness of the ChipsAway brand has increased significantly since the introduction of the national advertising campaign. This has also been reflected in substantially higher lead generation. Overall leads to the network in 2010 were up by 25%, with figures for the beginning of 2011 up by over 50% compared to the same period last year.”
Overall, the survey confirmed that ChipsAway’s marketing campaign has impacted strongly on brand awareness amongst consumers and has clearly increased understanding of the nature of the repair service, leading to substantially accelerated lead generation and a higher quality of leads, as well as consolidating and strengthening ChipsAway’s position as brand leader.
The potential marketplace for ChipsAway repairs is massive; over 34 million vehicles are registered in the UK, with the latest research indicating around 50% of vehicles have minor damage to paintwork. Despite this, ChipsAway estimates that currently it serves less than 5% of this marketplace!
