On the road to success for Driver Hire franchise
Specialist recruiter and leading franchisor, Driver Hire has enjoyed a strong performance in the year to April 2011, continuing the recovery which it started in 2009. Network revenue grew by 22% and EBIT by 45%. Network turnover (revenue) grew by 22% tp £70M. There were some equally strong individual performances from its 95 franchised office network, 17 of which achieved increases in turnover of 50% or more. Network expansion accelerated too, with new offices opening in Darlington, Leamington Spa, Twickenham and South East London.
The UK’s largest specialist supplier, Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or seasonal demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement.
Driver Hire’s subsidiary, Driver Hire Training, has also gone from strength to strength and the company believes that it is the UK’s largest supplier of Driver CPC training. Driven by industry demand for Driver CPC training, it now has 113 trainers and 72 offices offering fully accredited courses. Since its launch in 2010, Driver Hire Training has delivered 800 courses to just short of 6,500 drivers - that’s 49,000 hours of training.
Driver Hire’s continued success has been recognised by its industry peers. The company has been nominated for two awards: ‘Recruiter’ magazine’s ‘Best Industrial Recruitment Company’ and the British Franchise Association’s ‘Franchisor of the Year’. The winners will be announced later this year.
Commenting on Driver Hire’s strong performance, Chief Executive Chris Chidley said: “We’ve enjoyed an outstanding year. In a still uncertain economic environment our clients clearly welcome the flexibility of using temps. In a highly regulated industry they also value working with a reliable partner they know will supply them with quality and compliant staff.
“Looking ahead, as economic activity continues to recover, we see a greater demand for permanent staff. That’s why we launched dh Logistics Appointments at the Commercial Vehicle Show - a new permanent recruitment service for managerial staff. Another exciting development is our proposal for online driver assessment and training. Overall I’m very optimistic for the year ahead with our mix of blue chip national customers and local SMEs continuing to drive our franchisees forward to further success.”
