A family-run business which owns and operates a network of Domino’s Pizza stores in Merseyside and Cheshire, has opened a new store in Chester, after securing financial backing from NatWest.
The store, which has opened on Chester Street in Saltney, is the seventh Domino’s owned by Wirral-based AKS Partners Ltd.
AKS was formed in 1999 by former Liverpool University Lecturer Dr Talib Al Kadhimi and his nephew Sarmad Shakarchi. The duo opened their first store in Bromborough and now have stores in Chester, Heswall, Ellesmere Port, Upton and Liverpool.
“We are keen to grow our franchise business by opening new stores in good retail locations across Merseyside, Cheshire and the Wirral. This is our second store in Chester and we look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers to Saltney,” said Dr Talib Al Kadhimi.
Domino’s Pizza opened its first store in the UK in 1985 and today employs 20,000 people across more than 640 stores in the UK and Ireland.
John Fillingham, Relationship Manager at NatWest in Liverpool, commented: “For many years AKS has demonstrated how to run a successful franchise business. We are happy to support their expansion plans and look forward to helping them open future stores.”
