British Franchise Association announces new public relations appointment
The British Franchise Association (bfa) has announced the appointment of Jane Burgess as Public Relations Executive to further strengthen the organisation’s work in raising the awareness of franchising.
With over seven years’ experience in PR and marketing, Jane has worked across a wide range of sectors from legal, accountancy and insurance to consumer and charity. As well as a thorough knowledge of marketing and communications, she also has strong business acumen having been involved with new business development for a communications agency.
“The bfa is such a well established and pivotal part of the franchise sector – a sector which contributes a significant amount to the UK economy – and I am looking forward to helping the organisation to extend its reach and raise awareness of franchising,” explained Jane. “We will continue to work with our members to offer guidance and influence the continuing ethical development of franchising, both in the UK and around the world.”
Tom Endean, Marketing Manager at the bfa said; “I am delighted that Jane has joined us. We have previously worked with a number of PR agencies but decided to move the function in-house to enable us to be more responsive and reach a wider audience. As we enter a new phase in the organisation’s development, with the engagement of franchisees, it is really important that we have a team we can depend on.”
The British Franchise Association (bfa) is the voluntary self regulating governing body for franchising. Since its inception in 1977 the association has worked to develop and continuously improve the standards of good practice in franchising and to acknowledge franchisors who meet these standards. The franchise sector in the UK is now worth more than £12 billion to the economy through 36,900 franchise owners working with more than 890 brands.
