10 Dream Doors Franchisees Top Quarter-of-a-Million Pounds
In just six months, 10 Dream Doors franchisees have posted sales above £250,000. Many have taken in excess of £50,000 each month. And one showroom alone has sold over 100 kitchen facelifts worth more than £400,000. In fact, the top three Dream Doors franchises have sold more than £1million pounds between them already this year.
With sales of £419,320 on the board by the first week of July, Dream Doors Oxford's Mike and Elaine Hurley are on target to beat last year's award-winning turnover of £763,000. And ex-Woolworths director Roy Easthope is already just £80,000 short of beating his total annual sales for 2011, with turnover to date this year of more than £350,000.
But perhaps the most impressive performance is that of Dream Doors Guildford and Woking's Gary and Hayley Ashe who, this time last year, were house-hunting just days after emigrating from their native South Africa. Opening their showroom early in January, the Ashes have already surpassed £300,000 in sales of kitchen facelifts.
Says Gary: “It's been quite a journey, and it's amazing how much we now know that we didn't this time last year. That might sound obvious, but with the level of success we've had comes a very steep learning curve. Like most Dream Doors franchisees, neither of us had any previous industry experience, whereas now, just six months after our official showroom launch, we've had a few hundred thousand pounds worth of experience!”
Adds Gary: “There have been a few stressful moments, but that's the same in any business – especially one that works as well as this! We've ironed out most of the snagging issues now and I'm confident the second half of the year will be even better.”
Dream Doors offers a door replacement and kitchen makeover service that saves cash-strapped households thousands when compared to typical kitchen refurbishments. Its managing director, Troy Tappenden, identifies three key selling points that have made his brand so successful, and that have helped increase franchisees sales by 53 percent in the first half of this year.
“The huge savings made with a kitchen facelift gets most people's attention,” he says. “But our customers aren't just driven by price. They also love the convenience of our service, with the average job taking just two days to complete. And with most Dream Doors customers in their 60s or older, they also appreciate dealing with a trusted brand run by local and accountable business owners – and that is exactly what our franchisees are.”
