New appointment as Driver Hire franchise expands its training offer

Rod Harlow has been appointed Sales Director for Driver Hire Training the training arm of leading franchisor, Driver Hire Nationwide. A newly created position, Rod’s remit is to develop Driver Hire Training into a market leading training company, with a full portfolio of classroom and online commercial training products for the logistics sector. Driver CPC will continue to be its core product.

Whilst Rod takes responsibility for business development and growth, Head of Training, Richard Armitage, remains responsible for the creation, development and delivery of all Driver Hire’s training programmes.

Since its launch two years ago, Driver Hire Training has gone from strength to strength. It has become the UK’s largest single provider of Driver CPC training with a network of over 90 trainers nationwide. To date, Driver Hire’s network of franchised offices has trained just short of 21,000 drivers and delivered 147,000 hours of training.

Prior to his promotion, Rod was Area Development Manager for Driver Hire’s South West region.

“I’m looking forward to further developing Driver Hire’s training offer for the benefit of our franchisees,” says Rod. “The success of our Driver CPC training programme suggests there are massive opportunities for good quality, cost effective training. Developing new skills, such as fuel efficient driving, can have a real impact on operators’ fuel costs and give drivers greater job satisfaction.”
