The ZipYard franchise gets ready to party
Maidenhead’s specialist clothing alteration and repair centre, the ZipYard, on the High Street is getting ready for the Christmas party season after a busy first 4 months in business. As a thank you to the people of Maidenhead the centre is giving customers 10% off all alterations throughout December!
Manageress, Joanne Glover explains: “We’ve had more than 2000 customers through the doors since we opened and we have so much repeat business. We’re expecting to be very busy in the run up to Christmas as more and more customers want dresses and suits altered or re-styled for parties.”
The ZipYard opened its doors in July and offers a speedy and value for money clothing alteration and tailoring service. Feedback from customers is very positive.
Debbie Sharp from Cox Green, who had a dress taken in, said: “In and out in 1 hour, it’s amazing!”
Hansel Walker of Maidenhead said of her repaired coat: “It looks like new.”
Of her new zip, Becca Kennett, Maidenhead said: “My jeans are saved!”
The ZipYard offers a wide range of cost-effective repair and alteration services, all done on site by trained professionals in a clean, purpose-built environment. From dress re-styling and taking in or letting out to bridal-wear fitting or formal wear alterations. There is also a 1-hour express service for zips, hems and minor repairs.
Continued Joanne: “We’ve had some unusual requests since we opened, such as repairing a leaf blower bag and mending zips on ‘onesies’!”
David Kennedy, Owner of The ZipYard: “We have a very flexible service depending on what each customer needs and our fully trained seamstresses can fit garments precisely and perfectly.”
Continued David: “In this day and age most people don’t have the time or skills to do their own clothes alterations and perfectly good clothes are left hanging in the closet. Now people can bring these garments to us and we’ll make them fit just right.”
The ZipYard is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and on Saturday’s from 9am to 5pm.
