New Zipyard franchise provides speedy, high quality and affordable alterations
On Wednesday 24 October The ZipYard Woking opened to customers. Situated in the Wolsey Shopping Centre, the ZipYard provides an affordable garment alteration and clothing repairs service 7 days a week and in purpose-built surroundings.
Owner, Donal McCormack opened his first ZipYard in Staines just 4 months ago, and it’s been such a success that he decided to launch his second centre in Woking.
The ZipYard offers a wide range of alteration, repair and tailoring services, all done on-site by trained professionals. From dress re-styling; suits - taking in or letting out; to bridal-wear fitting or formal wear alterations; and even hemming curtains - The ZipYard does it all! There is also a 1-hour express service for zips, hems and minor repairs. Shoppers can buy a garment in the morning and have the alterations done in time to wear the outfit that evening.
Sharon Lowe, an experienced manager and buyer, will be managing the centre, and has already been out and about in Woking promoting the centre and asking retailers to recommend their services.
Sharon said: “I’m very excited about The ZipYard. The quality of the work is stunning and the seamstresses are truly skilful. There are so many offices around here I think that, especially with Christmas coming, we will be rushed off our feet altering party dresses and men’s suits.”
Continued Sharon: “Some of the shops that I’ve visited in Woking have told me that they get lots of enquiries about clothes altering services and until now there’s been nowhere to refer customers to, they were delighted to take some of our leaflets, which is a great start.”
In her spare time, horse-lover Sharon volunteers at the Mane Chance Sanctuary in Compton having helped to rescue some ponies earlier this year.
The ZipYard is located at 3 Wolsey Walk, Wolsey Shopping Centre and is open seven days a week: Monday-Saturday 9.30am-5.30pm; Sunday 11-5pm.
