MD of Caremark volunteers at London homeless charity

Janis Anderson, Managing Director of Caremark (Aylesbury & Wycombe), a local home care provider delivering care and support services throughout Buckinghamshire, volunteered to give some of her time to a London homeless charity.

Ms Anderson recently spent a weekend preparing and serving breakfasts for around 400 homeless people at the London Whitechapel Mission. Her dedication to supporting others meant a very early start to the day in preparation for the morning’s work of preparing and serving food and cleaning up afterwards.

The Whitechapel Mission serves the men and women caught in the cycles of poverty, hopelessness and dependencies of many kinds. Through their work they aim to support people to change their lives and help them to move towards a better life - one of hope, joy and lasting productivity.

One of their many services is to prepare and cook breakfasts for people who need help.
Part of the work that Caremark (Aylesbury & Wycombe) do is to participate in charity work.

“We at Caremark understand that our social responsibility to contribute to the welfare of people who need help spreads farther than providing home care to those who need support and personal care. Over the years we have supported a number of charitable activities including:

    • helping the publication of Gloriously Us, a poetry booklet written by people with Dementia and their carers, with all proceeds from sales going to the Alzheimer’s Society.
    • staff taking part in the cancer research 'Run for Life'
    • contributing to PACE charity for children with disabilities

We will continue to contribute to the society we live in through charitable works as well as striving to provide the best possible care to our many customers in Buckinghamshire” said Ms Anderson.

Caremark (Aylesbury & Wycombe) provide care and support to a diverse range of clients who wish to remain living safely and independently at home, but may require some extra support to do so. The company launched a new service last year, the ‘Caremark Independence Club’ a service aimed at enabling individuals to access community based activities. The various activities available are proving to be popular with many clients.
