Driver Hire Making Moves in the Midlands
Driver Hire, the 2019 bfa HSBC ‘Franchisor of the Year’, recently completed the re-sales of three well established recruitment franchises in the Midlands.
Paul Crossley is the new owner of Driver Hire Stoke. Before opting to buy his Driver Hire franchise, Paul had over a decade’s worth of recruitment industry experience, working as a Client Relationship Manager for Paystream, a nationwide business providing payroll and accountancy services for recruitment agencies and contractors.
“The idea of a buying a Driver Hire franchise came to me when I was on my honeymoon last year!” says Paul. “I discussed the idea with Nina, my wife, and she agreed that it sounded like a good investment. I’ve bought the franchise with a view to growing it and, as my own boss, benefiting directly from its success.”
Meanwhile, Darren Hooley has bought Driver Hire’s Derby franchise. Previously Darren had 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, working at both managerial and director level.
“I researched several franchising opportunities before settling on Driver Hire,” says Darren. “Moving from construction to recruitment isn’t totally random. In two of my previous jobs, I’ve been responsible for transport, working with driver recruitment agencies. That’s gave me a good insight into what makes a good recruitment business.”
Also in new hands is Driver Hire Nottingham. Its new owner is Michael Goodfellow. Before buying the Driver Hire Nottingham business, Michael had 30 years experience in sales, working most recently for Xtralis where he was General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Asia. Michael decided to buy his Driver Hire franchise because he wanted to be master of his own destiny, using his sales skills to create a highly successful business.
“I did a massive amount of research and due diligence before settling on Driver Hire,” says Michael. “It has a great business model and I’m keen to meet local business people to explain how our recruitment and training services can help them.”
Welcoming Paul, Darren and Mike to Driver Hire’s nationwide network, Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director said: “The opportunities for business growth backed by outstanding levels of franchisor support continue to make Driver Hire a highly attractive franchise proposition. We’re delighted that Paul and Darren are joining our network and look forward to helping them develop their respective businesses.”
The UK’s largest specialist supplier Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or seasonal demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement.
