DRIVER HIRE CELEBRATES OUTSTANDING 'INVESTORS IN PEOPLE' RESULTS
Already celebrating its 40th anniversary year, Driver Hire now has another reason to pop the champagne corks. It’s just been reaccredited by the leading independent business culture assessment organisation, ‘Investors in People’ (IIP). Driver Hire was first IIP accredited in 1995 and has maintained its marque ever since – for just short of 30 years.
IIP was launched in 1991 with the aim of ‘making work better’. Driver Hire was one of its early adopters. Highly regarded in the world of commerce, IIP has worked in 66 countries making work better for 11m people across the globe. Using IIP standards has helped Driver Hire become the UK’s leading specialist transport and logistics recruiter with a nationwide network of over 100 offices.
“’Investors in People’ look at nine separate activities within a business, covering leadership, support and continuous improvement,” says Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director. “They examined our business culture, for example, our values and behaviours and how we recognise and reward high performance. Individual members of staff were asked if they found their job interesting, had the right level of responsibility and felt empowered.”
Over each of the nine activities, Driver Hire’s IIP benchmark scores not only beat the IIP average but were 17 points ahead of the overall industry average. Equally impressive, Driver Hire staff were massively positive about the business they work for, giving ratings in each activity in the high 90s.
Driver Hire, which is a 2023 BFA ‘Franchisor of the Year’ finalist and past winner, sold its first franchise in 1987. Its nationwide network of over 100 offices provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays, or seasonal demand – a Driver Hire franchise will supply them with a suitable replacement.
