Awards, growth, and exciting plans for expansion: Dyno-Rod franchising's 2024 highlights
Hard as it may be to believe, we have welcomed 2025 and waved goodbye to 2024.
It’s been another fantastic year for Dyno-Rod, both across our flourishing networks and at head office, thanks to everyone’s continued hard work and commitment.
Recognition at the British Franchise Awards 2024
Often referred to as the Oscars of the UK franchising sector, the BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards recognise the exceptional achievements of franchisors and franchisees across the nation.
In November, Dyno-Rod were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the prestigious Franchisor of the Year (Established) category, a proud accomplishment for all stakeholders.
This achievement was particularly notable as the competition was fiercer than ever, with circa 25% more brands entering the 2024 awards compared to last year.
Brothers Richard and Dan Bowyer, the dedicated owners and operators of Dyno-Rod East Anglia & North Essex, were also named as one of three finalists in the Best in Class Multi-Unit Single Brand category.
This was a special way to mark the 50th anniversary of the franchise originally set up by their parents.
Named in Elite Franchise’s TOP 100
December saw us place 12th in Elite Franchise’s TOP 100, the prestigious list of the UK’s very best franchises. This is a fantastic achievement, especially given it is the first time Dyno-Rod have ever entered the process.
Franchisors who make the annual list are judged on eight core criteria which gauge entrants on their size, growth, ambitions and contributions made to franchisees and the community. An independent panel of top judges from the franchise sector then score the full top 100 list.
The placing alone is a significant achievement – however the cherry on top of the cake has been our shortlisting in 3 awards categories:
- The HSBC sponsored ‘Exceptional Performance of the Year Award’
- The AdSmart from Sky sponsored ‘Sustainability of the Year Award’
- The BusinessForSale sponsored ‘Innovation of the Year Award’
This has capped off what has been a phenomenal year of growth, development and recognition for our franchise operations. The entire team are looking forward to the celebration awards evening in March.
Head office team members becoming Qualified Franchise Professionals
This year saw several members of our head office team achieving Qualified Franchise Professional (QFP) status. This is the formal recognition of professional knowledge and experience in franchising.
This accomplishment further illustrates our unwavering commitment to delivering the highest levels of expertise and support to our franchise network.
By investing in professional development, we ensure our team possesses the knowledge and skills to help franchisees thrive, whether it’s through strategic guidance, operational support, or driving innovation.
Congratulations to:
- Lee Parry
- Lee Marsden
- Cheryl Kershaw-Whittle
- Alastair Donson
- Nick Doe-Wansey
Strong growth across the network
We’re delighted to say franchisees continued to reap the benefits of our Good to Great five-year strategy in 2024, with strong growth recorded across the franchise network.
One of the key elements of this strategy has been diversifying our service offering, which has to date successfully added over £25m in revenue to our franchise network.
This diversification has allowed franchisees to meet a broader range of customer needs and strengthen their market position in their territories.
Renewing our support for Leicester Tigers Down Syndrome Rugby
In October 2023, Leicester Tigers launched their first-ever Down syndrome rugby team, of which Dyno-Rod became the Official Supporter.
A year on, we recommitted to another season supporting the team. Our investment in the programme helps with securing facilities, staffing, medical costs and providing suitable attire for participants.
Collaboration with the University of Brighton to drive innovation
As part of our Industry and Education initiative, we established a partnership with the University of Brighton with the aim of sparking creative ideas to ensure Dyno-Rod remains a byword for innovation.
Following three months of work, in May our team judged 12 presentations from groups of students. These covered how Dyno-Rod can develop innovative marketing strategies to drive new business.
All presentations were very impressive, with students showcasing their understanding of the Dyno-Road brand and unique ideas to engage younger customers.
What 2025 has in store for Dyno-Rod franchising
After enjoying such an outstanding year across our network, we have more motivation than ever to make 2025 even bigger and better.
As part of our continued Good to Great five-year strategy, extensive plans are in place to continue this year’s growth into the next 12-month period.
This will see new franchisees joining the network, aided by a diversification of our franchise offering. This will significantly benefit the existing network and provide franchisees with more potential than ever to thrive under the Dyno-Rod flag.
We will share more details about this in the new year. But for now, we’ll leave the last word to Lee Parry, Dyno-Rod’s Network Performance & Strategy Manager:
“I’d like to take this opportunity to send my best wishes to our incredible franchise network, valued clients, and trusted partners – I hope you all enjoyed a very happy Christmas and new year period. Your exceptional hard work and dedication has made 2024 a truly special year for Dyno-Rod, and I want to thank each and every one of you for your commitment and support.
“Here’s to a fantastic 2025 – may it bring continued success, growth, and new opportunities for us
