Domino?s Pizza deal for MJL Group

MJL Group, one of the UK’s leading health & safety and human resources consultancies has secured a contract with Domino’s Pizza, the UK and Ireland’s leading pizza delivery company.

Domino’s Pizza has selected MJL to manage certain employment and health & safety procedures, including the provision of a 24 hour franchisee advice line and indemnity against any advice provided. The contract also covers a revolutionary employee induction programme which is available in multiple languages to encourage maximum use by the company’s diverse workforce.

Under the terms of the deal, MJL will also develop an e-learning package and online reporting and information system which will help Domino’s ensure that its franchisees are legally compliant with the latest employment legislation. The programme will be gradually rolled out through the company’s network of more than 501 stores across the UK and Ireland. Philip Shelley, CEO, MJL Group comments:

"Domino’s Pizza is the leading pizza delivery company in the UK and Ireland and and our programme will make it unique to the franchise market in having such a comprehensive legal and HR support programme for its franchisees. Our HR system will increase consistency in Domino’s HR practices across the whole of the UK and Ireland. It will not only ensure that franchisees will be compliant with employment legislation, but their employees will also have online access to an induction programme, their employment contracts and staff handbooks. MJL is very excited to have been chosen to partner with Domino’s Pizza".

Chris Moore, Chief Executive, Domino’s Pizza adds:

"Our franchisees are already successfully operating more than 500 stores across the UK and Ireland but as we expand further it’s critical that we ensure everyone working for our company is operating to our high standards. "Consistency is an inevitable challenge within a franchised business, but here at Domino’s we are committed to leading our industry by providing unparalleled support to franchisees and their team members. By using MJL, we will provide a more simplified system that will make it even easier for our franchisees to comply with employment law and health and safety legislation. This will make Domino’s an even better place to work and develop careers.

The Domino’s Pizza appointment, coupled with current clients, has the potential for MJL to be invited into other franchised businesses, which would position MJL as the UK’s leading franchise HR and health & safety specialist. This will see MJL create up to 50 jobs in South Wales during 2008. Ends
