Susie's success for Belvoir franchise Corby
When horse mad Susie Geddes, 21, responded to an advert asking for someone to look after a Brigstock businessman’s horses, little did she know she would end up carving out a whole new career for herself.
That was last year and, having met with Terry Lucking – Managing Director of Belvoir Lettings in Peterborough, Susie found herself not only helping out with his equestrian charges – she also landed herself a full time management role within his company.
Terry launched Belvoir Peterborough in 1999 and such has been the success of the business that late last year, he opened a satellite office in Corby, bringing professional property management and lettings to the town and the surrounding villages.
He offered Susie the chance to train at the Peterborough office before giving her the job of managing the Corby office.
Susie, who is just 21, has since made light work of the new venture, with the business already 60% up on original forecasts. She has also successfully completed her professional Level 3 Diploma in Lettings and Management, achieving a merit in the exam.
Terry said: “Susie has excelled in her new role even though, apart from managing a couple of local stables, she had no real business experience before joining Belvoir. She is an inspirational young woman who is also hoping to compete for the British dressage team at the 2012 Paralympics.”
“I have so much confidence in her ability to continue to deliver professional property services in Corby that we have now decided to open a new, bigger office in the town in the next few months. The new office will be on Rockingham Road,” continues Terry
Susie says Belvoir Corby’s success is down to the fact that the town was crying out for a competent lettings company to help meet demand for rental properties from the many professional customers flocking to the town.
She said: “With a new train station and direct link to London and so much regeneration going on in Corby at the moment, the town is attracting a lot of interest from professionals in particular. We are meeting the demand for quality rental properties and top notch property management services.”
