CHOICE HOTELS OPENS FIVE NEW EUROPEAN PROPERTIES

Choice Hotels International (NYSE: CHH), the global hotel group behind the Comfort, Quality, Sleep Inn and Clarion brands and one of the largest and most successful lodging franchisors in the world, today announced that it has opened five new hotels in Europe and is on track to open a further three in January 2009.
 
The hotels opened over the last few weeks include properties located in Norway such as the Comfort Hotel Florø; Comfort Hotel Trondheim and the Quality Spa & Resort Son, as well as the Clarion Collection Hotel Griso, Lecco and the Quality Hotel Michelino, Bologna Fiera, both located in Northern Italy.  
 
Properties to be opened in January 2009 include Clarion hotels in Sweden and Latvia and a further Quality hotel in Norway.  Other hotels, including the Quality Hotel, Maida Vale, London are on track to open later in 2009.

Choice Hotels Europe is one of the world’s largest hotel groups with over 500 hotels across Europe alone.  The portfolio of franchisee hotels offers business and leisure travellers a full spectrum from premium economy to luxury hotels.  The company is keen to grow its UK business further by entering into third-party direct franchising agreements with UK-based companies and individuals.
