Designs for an eco-future with Signs Express franchise
Signs Express (Cambridge & Huntingdon) brings displays to life for Westport Lake Visitor Centre in anticipation of its opening in September.
The Cambridge-based signage specialist was appointed by 55 Design after the design agency was awarded the overall project by British Waterways. The Signs Express team set to work on a number of decorative displays and directional signs for the new state-of-the-art eco-building and visitor centre to make it interesting for visitors young and old.
The centre will create the opportunity for visits to allow children to learn about the canal and lake, its history, local wildlife and also issues related to climate change.
Signs Express was commissioned to install internal and external displays and signage to bring the building to life. The product range was diverse and required knowledge and expertise to meet the outlined brief which included: directional signs built to replicate the curved shape of the building; clear acrylic panels with prints to the rear (some the size of people); printed wallpaper and printed frosted window graphics; floating acrylic signs and a solar panel information box.
Business development manager at Signs Express (Cambridge & Huntington) Nick Dowell commented: “The work we carried out for the eco-centre needed to be very bespoke to fit with the brief of making it as interesting to all ages as possible. We’ve worked in the past with 55 Design, so we were delighted that they thought of us for this particular specialist project. We’re really pleased with the outcome, but most importantly so is the client.”
55 Design offers creative advice and implementation across a wide variety of retail and corporate projects. Founder Paul Deacon commented on the work carried out: “The quality of the products produced and installed was excellent. Working alongside Signs Express enabled us to complete the project on time and on budget. Overall we are really pleased with the final look of the displays that will be enjoyed by many for years to come.”
