In early July the Channel 4 series Undercover Boss returns with six new high profile business bosses leaving the comfort of their corner offices to surreptitiously join their own work force in an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of their company.

Each week, the bosses work incognito alongside their employees, learning about the effects their decisions have on their workers and where the problems may lie within the organisation.  

Andrew Withers from Southern Fried Chicken is one of the brave bosses. He has literally gone back to the shop floor in some of the SFC outlets around the UK to learn more about the business his father started in the 60’s - the good and the bad. Andrew has worked in the business since the age of 19 focusing building the brand overseas.

The business has an annual turnover of over £100million but with his father now retired Andrew has decided to turn his attention to the UK outlets. You can see Andrew and how he got on in Undercover Boss, Channel 4, 9pm, 12th July.

Whilst undercover and in disguise Andrew got to hear what the SFC franchise owners really thought about how the company is run but was also able to see for himself what could be done to improve things.

After a challenging and enlightening few days he decided it was time to reveal his true identity to some of the unsuspecting people he met. In an emotional and empowering climax he revealed what he learnt from the experience, the changes he decided to make and how he wanted to show appreciation to some of the great people behind the brand.
