TaxAssist franchise businesses take on celebrities in charity football match

Top franchise businesses will be tackling a star studded team this weekend in a special ‘franchise versus celebrity’ football match to help raise money for charity.

The match will see stars from Eastenders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road including Adam Woodyatt, Danny Miller and Tony Discipline play at Dovecote Stadium in Loughborough on Sunday 5th August. Money raised will be donated to WellChild and the celebrity’s charity, Once Upon a Smile.

Phil Marriott who runs TaxAssist Accountants Loughborough who has two members of staff playing in the match said: “We’re delighted to be involved in such a fantastic event. It’s a great opportunity for businesses to come together and help raise as much money as possible for these vital charities while putting our footballing skills to the test and enjoying some friendly rivalry with the celebrities!”

Nigel Topliss, event organiser from Recognition Express said: “The aim is to raise as much money as possible for WellChild and the celebrity team’s charity Once Upon a Smile. We did really well last year and managed to raise £7,000, so it would be excellent if we could beat last year’s total.”

Kick-off is at 2pm, although celebrities will be available before the match for photographs and signing autographs. Tickets cost £8 for adults, £4 for under 16’s, under 5’s go free.

TaxAssist Accountants Loughborough is a local business, operating across Loughborough and the surrounding villages, providing tax and accountancy advice and services purely to small businesses.
