Venture into the senior care Industry with Always Best Care franchise
Far from hitting stages of decline or maturity, the UK senior care industry is presenting entrepreneurs with strong signs of growth for quality care businesses. The UK population’s life expectancy is on the rise and, naturally, the demand for excellent senior care services has followed the same pattern.
News broadcasters in the past year have awoken the British public to the negligence that goes on in the senior care industry. The UK population is ageing and the proportion of people aged over 65 rose from 15% to 17% from 1985-2010, an increase of 1.7m people, and is projected to reach 23% by 2035, according to the Office of National Statistics. This has led to strong demand for better senior care and made the public more considerate as to how to provide for our loved ones in their retirement.
The senior care market is improving drastically every day as under-performing homes are closing down. The cost of building new homes or updating existing establishments to the required level is becoming less economically viable for care providers. This has made the senior care industry an attractive proposition for entrepreneurs to find a solution. The name of the game is ‘at home care’ and its key players have taken warmly to it.
Although they still generally maintain a healthy lifestyle due to advances in medical science, the UK’s senior citizens are often unable to manage smaller tasks that we sometimes take for granted such us safely using the stairs or preparing an evening meal. A common solution has been to place our seniors in nursing or retirement homes. However, as people grow older a desire to be at home surrounded by the comfort of friends and family is naturally preferable.
There are multiple home care businesses around; one of the most prominent in the market is Always Best Care (ABC). Over the past two years, ABC has been the fastest-growing senior care franchise system in the USA and the only franchise that offer non-medical home care, assisted living placement services and skilled domiciliary care. They are trusted because they ensure their clients receive the right level of service at the right time. ABC has been operating in the USA since 1996 and launched its first franchises in 2008. There are now over 180 franchise territories across the USA and Canada, with their major success attributed to two factors; a recession-resistant senior care market and an exceptionally-high standard of care across their three revenue streams.
Planning to cater for the British senior care market, ABC has brought along its highly successful business model to the UK market. The secret to ABC’s success lies in its people and process. CEO Mike Newman explains: “We are delighted with the positive response we have received from prospective franchisees to expand our ABC service in the UK. However, as we operate in a people business, all our associates have to be carefully chosen to ensure we continue our quality provision.”
ABC is now in the process of recruiting regional master franchisors in the UK with extensive business experience and dedication. The master franchisors will be responsible for managing and mentoring a franchise network of hands-on professionals.
