British Franchise Association champions women in business

The ratio of women who lead and succeed in the UK franchising industry is conspicuously high and continues to increase. Women Working Well is the British Franchise Association’s (BFA) inaugural event championing the success of women from a cross-section of business styles, sectors and sizes, both franchised and non-franchised, taking place at the ICC, Birmingham on Tuesday 12 November.

Thinking about becoming a franchisee? Looking for inspiration, knowhow, support? How to turn your passion into a thriving business? Going from a desk at home to trading internationally? Practical advice and tips will inspire women thinking about getting into business to learn more from those already there, and help those already in business take the next step forwards. There will also be Q&A opportunities and networking breaks to ensure as much knowledge sharing as possible.

Businesses at all stages of growth will be represented in the speaker line-up, from children’s services to automotive repairs, fast food moguls to business coaches and marketing geniuses. Presenters include marketing guru and bestselling author Dee Blick; acclaimed business coach Pauline Stewart of Inspirati; and the stay-at-home-mum turned solo sailor and explorer, Rona Cant.

Many brands using the franchise model are run by successful businesswomen and several of them will be speaking on the day, including Sam Brocklebank, co-founder of Home Instead Senior Care, the UK Franchisor of the Year 2013.

Cathryn Hayes, HSBC's head of franchising, says: “I am delighted to support Women Working Well, which brings together great speakers on a wide range of business issues. The event provides an excellent opportunity to network, as well as great content - making it a 'must attend' event for women across the business world.”

This is a cross-sector event, with non-franchising delegates encouraged to attend and able to book via the bfa website. If you are interested in starting a business, growing a business, or who simply want to network with and learn from like-minded, successful women, then this is the event for you.
