DOMINO'S PIZZA STRENGTHENS SENIOR TEAM
Domino's Pizza Group Limited (Domino's), the UK and Ireland leaders in pizza delivery, today announces the appointment of Andrew Emmerson as Business Development Director.
Andrew, 44, brings twenty years of sector knowledge to the role as well as extensive experience gained in both UK and US franchise organisations, most recently as Managing Director of Millie's Cookies. Andrew has also worked for Upper Crust, Dunkin' Donuts in the USA, The Tetley Pub Company, Tetley Walker and Allied Breweries.
At Millie's Cookie's, Andrew managed the UK and European business and engineered the roll-out of the system, adding 29 stores during his time with the company. At Dunkin' Donuts he was responsible for 700 franchised stores across the US and whilst he was there the company notched up significant like-for-like sales growth and increased franchisee profitability.
As Business Development Director at Domino's, Andrew will drive the company's expansion programme, leading the 25-strong team that is responsible for identifying the new franchisees and properties needed to deliver 50 new store openings each year. Andrew will also strengthen DPG's focus on developing multi-unit franchisees, as well having the estates management and construction functions within his portfolio of responsibility.
Welcoming Andrew to the Board of Domino's Pizza Group, Chief Executive of Domino's, Stephen Hemsley, says, "We are very impressed by Andrew's hands-on attitude. He is keen to spend as much time as possible with our franchisees, working with them to develop profitable multiple store operations. He also brings valuable insight into how a retail system can successfully manage its expansion and he knows a great deal about the franchise and property realms.
"Domino's has opened 240 new stores since the start of 2000 and our plan is to maintain this rapid growth rate at a rate of around 50 stores a year. I am confident that Andrew will contribute significant additional momentum to our efforts. Such a strong appointment to the senior team is exactly right for this stage of our growth."
Andrew comments, "It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Domino's. The company is poised to double in size over the coming years and I look forward to playing a part in that very exciting journey. Joining a market leader, particularly in such a fast-growing and dynamic market, presents me with a great opportunity and I am particularly looking forward to meeting our franchisees and learning more from them."
Andrew's will report directly to Stephen Hemsley.
