THE LITTLE GYM FLOURISHES IN FACE OF INACTIVE YOUNGSTER PRESS

Whilst recent research states that fewer than three per cent of 11 year olds are taking enough exercise, The Little Gym franchise is experiencing greater interest than ever before. Located throughout London, the South East and the Midlands, and with national coverage expected in the next five years, The Little Gym offers a curriculum-based gymnastics programme for children from 4 months to 12 years.

At it's recently opened Chiswick gym, full membership has totalled over 300 since its official opening on 3 September, making it the fastest growing gym outside of America since the company was founded in 1976.

Bev Regan, UK Franchise Development Manager commented, "The Little Gym is relatively new to the UK but has been massive throughout the US and Europe for many years. Kids really want to get active but often there are few options available to them - many clubs have huge waiting lists or only cater for older children that show promise competitively, so those that are keen but don?t necessarily shine miss out."

"At The Little Gym, we offer something different. All of the children have an opportunity to grow their skills at their own speed, with direction from qualified instructors, in a safe, non-competitive environment. As well as helping them to develop a love of sport, the programmes also work on their cerebral skills too, so it's an all round headstart - and a lot of fun!"

The Little Gym has over 282 centres worldwide, with a further 94 in pre-opening phase. UK gyms are located at Hampton Hill, Wandsworth, Chiswick, Sutton Coldfield and Stoke on Trent. Bishops Stortford opens in the next few months with St Albans, Chelsea, Hampstead, Windsor, Beaconsfield and Harrogate opening in 2008.
