THE LITTLE GYM STOKE ATTRACTS TALENTED LOCAL COACHES

The Little Gym, at Festival Way, Stoke has welcomed four new local gymnastics coaches to its growing team and promoted Child Development Instructor, Lucie Owen, to Programme Director.

Bringing a wealth of sports development and coaching knowledge gained from their studies at Staffordshire University, Anna Kelly, Dan Machin and Helen Spooner join the team as part-time Child Development Instructors. Meanwhile, Kym Morton joins from Stoke’s Trentham High School, bringing great enthusiasm and experience gained in local voluntary coaching.

The gym’s owner, Yvonne Shuttleworth commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Anna, Dan, Helen and Kym to The Little Gym, and it’s wonderful to watch Lucie flourish doing something she really enjoys. I’m incredibly proud of what we do, and of our team of local coaches who are dedicated to helping local youngsters get the best possible start.”

A unique exercise concept introduced from the US, The Little Gym programme is available to youngsters of all abilities from 4 months to 12 years. Weekly themed classes combine music, games and motor-skills activities which encourage a healthy disposition from a young age and, later, a love of exercise. Small groups can gain confidence in a safe, non-competitive environment, with close guidance and encouragement from trained instructors. The tailored programme helps youngsters get the most from each stage of their development; it promotes co-ordination, balance, rhythm and flexibility, as well as providing an opportunity to let off steam, make new friends and, above all, have fun.
