Caremark, a leading UK home care provider, is proud to announce that its Marketing Director, Emma Scholes, has been named a finalist in the prestigious Woman Franchise Employee of the Year category at the 2024 Empowering Women in Franchising Awards (EWiF). This recognition celebrates Emma's outstanding contributions, not only to Caremark’s success but also to advancing opportunities for women within the franchising sector.

As one of just five finalists nationwide, Emma’s nomination reflects her significant influence in shaping the strategic direction of Caremark’s 131 franchises. Over the past year, she has been a driving force behind the franchise’s brand transformation, playing a pivotal role in initiatives that have strengthened the company's performance. Her achievements are a testament to Caremark’s commitment to empowering women in leadership and fostering a supportive environment for female franchisees and senior managers.

Talking about her finalist status, Emma commented:

“I am incredibly honoured to be a finalist in such a competitive category. Caremark’s success is the result of a united team, embracing new ideas and a positive approach to growth. I am fortunate to work with such fantastic colleagues, many of whom are women leading their own franchises across the UK or working at our headquarters. It’s rewarding to see our collective efforts being recognised and, more importantly, to work for a company that genuinely values diversity and inclusion."

She continued, “While the care sector is largely female, the franchising industry has historically been male dominated, so I’m proud that Caremark is leading the charge in changing that narrative. The rise of female franchise owners within our network is inspiring, and I hope my experience can encourage other women to pursue leadership and business franchise opportunities in the future.”

Joint CEO David Glover, added:

“With a 70% female management team, we are thrilled to see Emma recognised by EWiF for her achievements. Her impact on our business has been profound. In just two years, she has transformed our marketing strategy, including delivering a national marketing fund. Furthermore, she’s united franchisees and fostered a vibrant, collaborative culture across our network, all while building a strategy-driven marketing team around her.

“While success is never down to one factor alone, Emma’s contributions have been instrumental in driving Caremark’s ongoing growth.  In 2023, we saw an 18% increase in turnover, a 37% improvement in staff retention, and a 12% rise in customers. What’s more, our turnover for 2024 is already up by 26% so far.”
