Dyno-Rod attend the 2024 BFA Annual Conference and receives recognition at the British Franchise Awards
As an inspiring day of learning and networking, the BFA’s Annual Conference is always a red letter day in the world of franchising.
We were especially looking forward to the 2024 event, however, following the news earlier this year that both Dyno-Rod and one of our franchises had been nominated for two prestigious awards at a ceremony which followed the main conference.
As ever, the conference itself was a hugely beneficial event to attend. It provided an invaluable opportunity for the Dyno-Rod team to connect with like-minded industry professionals, building relationships that support an advantageous community within the franchising sector.
We also had the opportunity to enjoy in-depth discussions about hot topics affecting all franchisors, especially in light of the recent government Budget announcement. As a founder member of the British Franchise Association, we believe it’s critically important for Dyno-Rod to contribute and be part of these discussions.
With the theme of the conference being “Innovation – Driving Business Success”, we also had the opportunity to hear from expert speakers – including Dragons’ Den’s Steven Bartlett – about topics including leveraging digital advancements in business to build brand value across networks.
The conference delivered even more than anticipated, making for a day filled with motivation and forward-thinking ideas that perfectly set the stage for the evening’s awards ceremony.
How we fared at the British Franchise Awards 2024
It was revealed back in the summer that we had received two nominations at what are often referred to as the Oscars of the UK franchising sector.
Dyno-Rod was listed as one of the six finalists in the prestigious Franchisor of the Year (Established) category – a particularly notable nomination as the competition this year was fiercer than ever, with c.25% more brands entering the 2024 awards compared to last year. This underscored the many recent achievements we have made as a brand.
Meanwhile, brothers Richard and Dan Bowyer, the dedicated owners and operators of Dyno-Rod East Anglia & North Essex, were named as one of three finalists in the Best in Class Multi-Unit Single Brand award. This was a special way to mark the 50th anniversary of the franchise originally set up by their parents.
On the night, the Dyno-Rod team and the wider franchise community enjoyed a fantastic evening celebrating the successes of the industry. Richard and Dan proudly showcased their superb business, with a successful shortlisting deserved recognition for their hard work and that of their team.
Dyno-Rod were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the prestigious Franchisor of the Year (Established) category, a proud accomplishment for all stakeholders. The brand are eager to build on this recognition and look forward to working collaboratively with franchisees, team members and their wider partner base.
Speaking about the Highly Commended Franchisor of the Year success, Lee Parry, our Network Performance & Strategy Manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this recognition. We have been immensely proud of the progress we have made as a franchisor through our Good to Great strategy, and winning this Highly Commended award is a celebration of all we have accomplished together.
