Pizza1889 is an established artisan pizza café and takeaway operating from converted upcycled shipping containers. The model combines the charm of artisan street food with the financial added benefit of owning the container which is a  valuable, portable asset.  The business model offers flexibility and security.

Our concept originated in 2013 with the owners taking their learnings from living overseas. Their aim when returning to the UK was to innovatively combine authentic, fresh handmade grab and go pizza, with a sustainable and accessible experiential business model.

We are a proven concept that energises any small space, with a unique, vibrant and affordable business model that returns a profit to its owner following the models' criteria.

Our pizza is made fresh on site every day – from the dough to the tomato sauce by fully trained Pizza Maestros who learn to cook an Italian street pizza fully within 6 weeks.

We are looking or franchise partners across Ireland. Hospitality experience is not necessary but we love pizza and would want our partners to share the same passion in creating great quality authentic food.

Our shipping container units energise the environments they inhabit offering innovative, branded and vibrant solutions to optimise outdoor space. The business opportunity is achievable to a franchisee at a fraction of the investment required for an in-line hospitality venue. The cost includes the purchase of the shipping container restaurant asset – which is owned fully at the end of the term. Unlike a traditional restaurant franchise purchase – where everything is left behind, the unit can be upcycled, rebranded, reused or sold.

Our food is second to none crafted from authentic Italian ingredients with a menu that is highly affordable. We deliver hugely competitive meal deals at an unrivalled price point. Our app is growing along with our database, all our stores produce high turnover for a grab and go concept and are profitable.

• Landlords / commercialization - We have been lucky enough to work with landlords and commercialisation teams who support and encourage our land and site requirements.

• Suppliers - supporting us day to day are our many suppliers who will work directly with our franchisees. They support and deliver the goods and operations needed to run our stores. We have great external relationships who will assist in providing Accounting, Tech,  HR, Design, Build, Landscaping, Distribution, Procurement, Packaging.

Our ideal franchisee profile

• You are someone looking for a first franchise opportunity
• You have a strong desire to be their own boss and to be hands on in your own business.
• You have a passion for pizza - love great quality food and are a people person who will love talking and serving our many loyal customers
• Preferably you have a hospitality (ideally food) service background – this can be taught to the right candidates
• You have experience being in a kitchen or feel you could be comfortable hands on in a cooking environment
• It is desirable that you have experience of leading and developing a small team
• Ideally you have understanding and some experience of running a small team, business or department
• You have want to learn how to manage your own P&L,    
• You have a willingness to connect with the local community, build relationships, make friends and partnerships required to drive sales
• You need to have access to at least €60k of funds with the ability if necessary to provide security to borrow the balance (we can support and get approval for funding - if necessary).
