Interview with TRIB3 Manchester franchisee Katie Kopka
Katie Kopka opened the doors to her TRIB3 boutique gym in Manchester in November. Katie is a great example of someone who decided to look outside the box and use the advantage of franchising allowing you to enter an industry you have no previous experience in. Katie decided to focus on her passion for fitness and it was an off chance reading an article in The Guardian about boutique gyms that she came across TRIB3. And liking what she read, she called them immediately. Katie talks to us about opening after a pandemic, the support she received, the challenges to date and what she would do differently, finding the right people to work with you and her plans to open her second gym.

Gavin Sahota is the current owner of 7 GDK restaurants. Having worked his way up the career ladder at Domino’s Pizza, Gavin understands franchising and what makes an exciting brand and scaleable franchise opportunity. And so, when he started to hear good things about GDK, he decided to visit the stores and try the products, to see first-hand why everyone was talking about GDK. Hugely impressed with the concept, he decided to take his interest further. Gavin launched his first restaurant in 2019. He now plans to add to his 7 stores, securing his future with GDK. Pillow Partners franchisees start business during Covid...and continue to thrive
Furloughed during Covid gave Naomi Turrell the time and inspiration to start looking at options for being her own boss. She decided she wanted to use her own experience in hospitality and property management to start a business looking after people’s holiday homes. Whilst initially planning to do it herself, the research led to Pillow Partners. The brand and concept of being part of a franchise had instant appeal. Leanne Penn initially was helping Naomi with the admin side of her business but seeing how successful it was becoming, gave her the push to look at joining the franchise too. They both now run adjoining territories together as partners.

Previously working for another children’s sport franchise, Nicki found a love for working with children and a desire to run her own business.
